"Compare" Drawings:Find drawing differences with one click

  • How to quickly find out the differences between two versions of a drawing after the drawing has been changed?

Here are the detailed steps:

1. First of all, make sure your computer has installed PDFBlueprint, if not yet installed, please download the installation package from the official website and install it.

2. Open 2 drawings that need to be compared in PDF format.

3. Click on the "Compare" button in the menu bar.

4. If you open more than one PDF file, you need to first select the two drawings you want to compare.

5. If the PDF file has more than one page, you can select any page, enter the page number, for comparison

Note:

a. When you use the "Compare Drawings" function for the first time, the current page number of the PDF file to be compared will be loaded by default.

b. It is recommended that you use the "Compare Drawings" function before the PDF file to be compared to switch to the page number to be compared.

c. In addition, when you open the "Compare Drawings" dialog box, you can still open the PDF file, page switching, zoom browsing operations.

6. If a drawing has been scaled, offset and other operations resulting in two drawings can not be aligned, the two drawings need to set the base points, in the Base Points next to the icon, put the mouse on top of the icon is the operation of the notes. According to the software prompts to set up skills, set the base points. After setting the two base points within a PDF drawing, press the right mouse button to confirm.

7. Choose where to save the comparison results, by default they are saved on the desktop.

8. Click on "Compare" button and the comparison result will automatically generate a new PDF drawing. Below is a comparison result. The green color represents the content unique to the first drawing, and the red color represents the content unique to the second drawing. Where two drawings are the same, they are shown in black.



Tips for this function:

a. If the two drawings do not overlap, you can set base points to align the two drawings.

b. When setting base points, the drawing can be enlarged as much as possible for specifying precise points.

c. You can compare different pages of the same PDF drawing. Simply open a PDF drawing, select a different page. Other operating procedures and the same as above.

e. Drawing comparison results can be shared with others and can be opened for viewing using other PDF software.
