What is the function of comment list?

A) Background:

When a drawing annotations and markup becomes visually complex, you can assign category and label to the comment list in order to assist organization. Object on a category normally assume the properties of that category selected by default. However, you can override the category of the annotation at the comment list. For example, if the object’s category color is set to Red, the object displays as red. During bill of quantity take off, a quantity surveyor can utilize the comment list function to organize, compile, summarize and export the data obtain from the PlanForm software to excel format for further documentation.

B) Comment List Functions:

Comment List function to tracks and organize all the markups and measurements placed on a PDF, including color, comment type, page number, etc by assigning a list of comment before export to excel format. Comment List allow the user to extract the data such as length, area, count, content and etc. It also includes the following features:

Tabulate and locate:

Tabulate all comments added to PDF. Click the row to locate the comment on the page.

Manage columns:

Add custom properties to comments and adjust the display order of columns.

Comment grouping and sorting:

Group comments by a specified column and sort by it.

Filter by columns:

Organize rows of comments by setting filters to several columns.

Search:

Filters the comments list based on the text entered in the field.

Edit properties:

Edit comment properties directly in the list.

Export:

Export comments data to excel based on specified conditions.

C) Comment List Toolbar Functions

Comment List: Open or close the Comment List.

Search: Search for comments by key word. Click the X to clear the search term.

Manage Columns: Setting columns to show, hide, and order, as Well as Creating, modifying, and deleting customized columns.

Filter: Filter the contents of one or more columns.

Export to Excel: Export all or part of a comment list to Excel.

‘X’ button: Close the Comment List.
